Children's Education

Children's Chapel
Church of the Resurrection offers Children's Chapel for all children 10 years old and younger. Children's Chapel meets during church through the sermon time of the 10:30 service. Children return to their families at the Peace. During Children's Chapel, children hear and/or participate in a story, sing and pray, have a short hands-on activity and end with a snack. Parents are welcome to be present with their children in Children's Chapel or to let them go on their own. Committed adult volunteers run our Children's Chapel.

Children's Chapel Formation at Resurrection Believe:

That God and the child have a unique relationship with one another at each stage
of life.
That all children need their own place to nurture a relationship with God.
That the child's growth is best served through "hands on" materials and open reflection.
That art and music are essential parts of spiritual formation
That structure and boundaries help children to learn.
That times of quiet introspection need to be balanced with times of loud active play.

Approximate Time Schedule
10:30-10:35 Greet Children and invite them into chapel.
10:35-10:40 Lighting of candles and Twirling activity
10:40-10:45 Sharing
10:45-10:55 Bible Verse and Listening Activity
10:55-11:15 Prayer, Exploring Activity, Snacking and Music
11:17- Return to Church
